On inspection I think early plastic due to the seam however it is handsigned and that should almost count.

Simon,

The seam could be where they cut the timber to put a full length wire through the lure??? just a thought.

Very nice lure all the same and a treasure.

Cheers Tom

it is a pretty striking lure anyway.  There is a line down the centre of the bib top and bottom though certainly more pronounced on bottom than top

This black and white lure is a plastic reidy's called a "Big barra". Some of these are signed (the early ones) but most are not. Not sure of the date...possibly late 80's. I started buying reidys in 1991, and I don't remember seeing them in the shops at all.

Barry, if I was to acquire an 'Articulated Moller', would you trade that silver/green timber Reidy's for it? LOL
Just curious.
Regards, Tony.

Bump! Any more info. with regards to how many timbers Jeff made?
I could check-out the Reidy's factory at Humpty Doo, it's changed hands again. Maybe they have some early ones in the archive, from when Jeff lived here? Worth a punt.
Regards, Tony.

Wadey, I think you've struck gold! The one Bruce Moller showed me is painted in silver/black, but has the thru-wire construction like yours.
Bruce showed me several boxes from his pops shed, many blanks in various stages of completion in several shapes, including minnows, nilsie copies, herring etc., but only the one finished articulated model. Good luck to you, a great find.
Regards, Tony.
