Lives In Wallangarra QLD.
Made his first lures around 1970 to replicate Flatfish
lures that were too expensive to lose
Lures made for cod fishing
Main influences were flatfish which he copied but had difficulties
getting them to swim so started using Z shaped bibs
Sold his first lures around 1973 for $5 each to a bloke
from the army who saw some of his lures. Word got around and requests were made
for more.
Started to sell them through the local pub and also at the
Glen Lyon Dam. It was not until he started to sell through Fitzy's Freshwater
fishing site later on that the name"GARRA Lures" came about.
Lures are all hand carved through to today with hangers,
soldered tow wires and bibs cut and made by hand as well. Early Lures carved with a boning knife and painted with
spray cans with marine varnish used as the clear coat. Every lure is hand tested in a dam close to his home. On average each lures takes around 90mins to complete Lures below have been aged by Terry. The ones with red dots on the tags are 70's and the green dots are 80's. A few are old carved lures which were painted early 2000's. |

A very nice selection of early Terry Marshall's . I had one of those Z bibbed ones, gave it to a mate on site here, and somebody stole it from his shed. I will recognise it if ever I see it again - yellow with red paint dots "flicked" onto it with a paint brush. Anybody seeing it, please message me ....

Thanks Guy's, I have been meaning to put up reference pics and a short bio for ages but have never found the time until now. I have been asked a number of times if I have doubles to trade but as Terry never had paint patterns until he started selling through Fitzy & Debbie every old lure I have seen is slightly different, Which means that the $$$ for them will probably get too high well before getting anywhere near close to all colours is achieved.
Martin, No pics I assume? As you said, it will stick out if ever put online as there are not many of these Z bibs about and as above I near guarantee the paintjob will be unique. Sel, You just stay with the later ones, too many players chasing these now , Although I did just add another 4 old ones since these pics were uploaded.

Some photos about 5 years ago - I put it up foe ID in "what the blazes". It wasn't identified then and I only found out what it was when I started going to see Terry. Way too many posts since then to try to find it.
