Hi guys. I am looking for a small tinny. Found a cheap one (400 bucks). I want a motor 6hp or under. Would a old one do or stick to new. There are some old Honda’s out there that look all banged up. Should I bother? Thanks.

I have had so much problems with buying second hand small motors of any description ( apart from one, a tinny I bought off a mate with a great outboard, but I trusted him explicitly ) that I would stick to new.

Yamaha make many of the components and heads of most other models. When ever I get my Honda or Mercury serviced, the outboard mechanic uses Yamaha parts as they are cheaper.
