Been a very longtime since I've had the passion to get into the shed.
I started to make 4 of these little 55mm crays a few months ago.
and too date only got the one finished. The others have been sitting in various stages of completion for few months waiting for that feeling to want to finish them to return.
A few of you may of all ready seen this one elsewhere..but I will add others as I complete them...this could be a marathon postLOL

I concur, totally worth the wait. Will they each be getting different paint schemes and eyes?

Have you given it a test swim yet?

Checked the mail box today. Still no dots... LOL

Nicho's finish is spectacular though. The only clear coat I can personally say is legitimately piranha proof.

Hi all
At this rate im averaging a lure a year :)
This one has a few faults..i dropped it on shed floor just as i had finished the first clear coat..yes i swore.
I got the shits and hung  it up for 6 months whilst i recovered.
Sanded it back gently to remove the sawdust..touched up the paint and clearcoated again...it has a few blemishes due to the mishap but i wasnt in the mood to sand back to timber and start again.
The guy that requested a cray did so 5 years ago..so even though its not spot on (pardon the pun) i hope he will be happy with his gift as a thankyou for patiently waiting.
Thanks for looking
Nicho

Ducks- has it arrived yet, are you still checking?Still seeing spots and polka dots?  LOL

Mick- I concur, fish it till you lose it blemishes be damned.

Nicho- Quality over quantity. Nice to know I am not the only crazy bugger fretting over the minutia. Considering how anal you are I would bet that lure would be a tacklebox MVP and please even the ficklest of critics. If this bloke isn't happy with it let me usurp Mick and call dibs first!Tongue

Have you given this the royal swim test?

Yes Mr Ardent its been tested...i have this thing about not posting photos unless they pass the swim test first.
If they are not quite right they go in my tacklebox
and i manipulate them when out fishing.
Sometimes i gently manipulate them other times they get the royal treatment and are never to be seen again.Smile

I feel as though I am being scolded.Ouch Perhaps I should reconsider the methodology of instant gratification whilst posting, but they look so pretty! How can one not share!?

An excellent point that you make, one I have pondered endlessly with numerous catch 22's; Doubling down, make or break, or the proverbial trial by fire it is for me I guess? Should I mess up at this point, well...Just have to start over, granted Martin won't be pleased having to switch his dunny paper. haha

Poor Ducks, just keep checking the post maybe it is delayed with the whole virus thing?

DUNNY PAPER ...... I don't use dunny paper, I'm not that rich. I used weaved grass to wipe my ..... body after a showerWink

Still looks good Nicho. Your clear coats seem to have a bottomless depth there that seems to go on forever. But I concur - fish that suckerBig smile
