With the recent introduction of Brollys outstanding collection of Newell lures thought you maybe interested in the following article with very nice coloured photographs of lures by the Man at the time.
Located Modern Fishing September 1983 I could not find that it had been posted earlier
Enjoy

Sorry John, I sent that article to Tony last year. It's on the site somewhere, but I can never find it.
I think Tony needs to allocate an 'easy to find' location for these articles. Maybe a sub section in the LURE MAKING section, called Articles on Lure Making.
Cheers
Travers

As Travers said, already somewhere but a great article anyway. I enjoy looking at it Some very nice lures in it. I think it may be B.Dowdy or Ausbasstony??? who found one of the metal plate guppies a while back at a garage sale or similar. A few of us would give eye teeth for one of them

Thanks Alistair and Travers
I tried too to find it
I thought the paint work on the lures would be of interest that was used at the time.

To find the original posting of the article just click on Peter Newell at the top of the page,go to
Page 2 of the list and there it is half way down "Peter Newell Lures-How to Roll Your Own"
I could "bump" it back to the top if you like.
Cheers,Jim
