As some of you guys know or may not know i have been told that i can't work in the mines anymore (28yrs service) so until they terminate me this year i can't get any work so  i started making lures over a year ago and thanks to the guys that have shown me on how to make them,i also joined a Men's Shed and started learning wood turning,so decided to buy myself a Midi Lathe to do some turning myself as in making some poppers and other things as well, here's a couple of pic's of a couple of things i have turned up at The Shed and a pic of the Lathe that arrived on Wednesday...also a guy near me makes footy signs and whatever so got him to make this sign for me for the shed...Mick!!!

A bloke at Tweed / Coolangatta couldn't make enough timber hand lines. He would be paid to cut down the camphor laurels, age the timber then turn it on his lathe. His orders were always months behind. The pro trout boat up north are always after the wooden hand lines as they don't like the plastic ones.

Good stuff Mick, make sure you buy a good face shield, had a piece explode on me a couple of weeks back and just removed the face shield when it happened, it dropped me onto one knee, needed a few stitches above the eye but just taped it, last time doc did some sewing practise didn't give me a shot . A lesson learnt.

Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.

You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.
