This is to refresh your memorys

http://www.lurelovers.com/forum/jim-mcconnachie-lures_topic2027.html

For those new members etc who might not have heard of Jim, one of NQ's
early timber lure makers, IMHO a pioneer and legend.

I was talking to Jim a while ago and he had found a few old 6" Nilsey blanks
(20) complete with gal wires and bibs, these date back to around 82-84
so I am gonna call it 84, Jim was not to fussed about cleaning them up,
gluing and painting, can't say I blame him, I told him to send em down and
I would be honoured to paint them and turn them into hybrids, this I did after
a lot of cleaning up etc, they have had 3 dip coats of sealer, another 3 dip
coats of white and then lotsa painting, a couple of my old baitfish colours
and the rest with some of the new pearls etc etc, hope you all like the results,
these lures deffinately look better in the hand, pics don't do em justice.

The lures were signed by me for both of us (with Jims permission), sorry it's not
very neat but have had trouble with the shakes.

One lure went back to Jim and two will go to Tony for the site, that leaves
17, they will be for sale to LL members on the site.

The problem I have is what are they worth? without going rediculous, what
$$ would members be happy to pay for a piece of lure history like this, not
going to auction them cause I want all those interested to be able to afford
them, what I am asking is for some feedback, on the site or PM's to give me
an idea of what people think is a fair price plus postage, I will then decide
what to do with them.

Thanks in advance.......... Gristy

Carl visited me a couple of weeks ago and showed me a few more blanks he acquired from Jim on his recent trip north. Carl was kind enough to gift me a couple and I'm keen to try and make something of them. I have an early 70's lure that seems to be made from the same white beech blank. Using this as a guide, I've shaped one up and will glue tomorrow. Stay tuned for the finished product!!…

The finished product turned out ok, didn't want to replicate the pattern exactly, just do it in my style.
