First day on the water for Rodsncods Mick, a 75cm cod. The day was sunny but a brisk wind blowing. Caught on a BTD lure. Go Ben.

My helper Darryl finished work at 4pm and hit the water in his new boat. It was a stiff westerly wind but his decky caught a 45cm, 51cm and a 61cm cod.
Another boat caught one cod but had it on twice. The water is so clear they could see their lure at 15'.
2men from Chinderal are tallying 4 small cod in 2 outings.

My friend and painter BobL caught this 93cm cod (26.5lbs) on one of his own lures last Wed. He was fishing below the bridge where there is a sand buildup from floods leaving a narrow stream of deep water with shallow 3' flats. He actually saw the cod cross the shallow water. Polaroid sunglasses are great.

If so Brett, then it wasn't tagged by me - my biggest went 63 cm in that river - but saw many more a lot bigger.

Caught in Glenlyon Dam Brett. Mind you we do have tagged cod and yellows in the dam as well Brett, done by Southern Brisbane Fishing Club under Suntag U tags. I was doing the fishing report for Moree Radio station whilst checking out the cod from the wall this morning and you guessed it I got distracted mid sentence with ' Wow that 's a bigone.'Photos will be posted up next week when I get my camera to town. I have not been anywhere for 2 weeks now as Brian has been away.

You've only got a week left to fish the rivers as closed season for cod is nearly in. 1st Sept-30Nov.There is no closed season in Glenlyon Dam as it's Qld and stocked well.

This is my daughter Lori and she had a great day on Sunday out on the water in her Dad's boat. She cast the spinnerbait and watched the 58cm Cod take it. It was undersized of course.

fished Glenlyon yesterday and although I didn't catch a cod...I hit quite a few on the head ....yep I would have cast to at least 20 cod from 20lb to 50lb easy..all in crystal clear water....it was amazing to watch these huge fish...think they had other things on there mind .....so if you ever want to see a amazing event get out to Glenlyon...NOW....

Where are the best areas to fish at the moment, thinking of heading there on the 21st sept.

Haven't been there before so any tips would  be great.

Latest report is today. 98cm cod caught and released about 20kms up the dam and a lady arrived today and had never used a lure before and released a 59cm cod. Needless to say both campers are happy.

Darryl Taylor with one of the juniors at Glenlyon. One of the boats today was cruising up the centre of the dam and slowed down to give a critter a lift. An echidna paddling madly. He scooped him up in the landing net and dropped him off at the bank. Which bank.

A lot of cod undersized and legal but lacked photos to show you. A busy weekend here but took a few photos.
1. MunroLL from Toukley with the winning 20lber that took the prize from his father who was head to head for the week.
2. Simon Fitspatrick Byron Bay who caught this 106cm on his first afternoon's fishing. It looks a bit staged as it was in the coolroom overnight until Brian used his filletting skills on it.
 3. Yesterday afternoon  my happy young camper caught this 5kg yellowbelly on bait across from the park.
