Hi

Good Morning !!

After a long gape I was able to complete 2 baits & tested both for their action & sinking, quite happy with the outcome. Sharing some of the pics for your views, comments & suggestions.

It was a long learning curve for me, whatever time i got after the working hours was spend on reading, watching resource on "how to make time lures" and trying different ways for enticing action of the lure. Had a hard time overcoming many issues one after the other, but never lost hope.

Cosmetically  they do not look prefect but feel that some more practice is required specially dabbing of lure eyes (like Australian lures). This was the first time, i was able to shoot createx colors smoothly. It was combination of createx thinner & corresponding PSI. All well fine including applying epoxy & signing on lures Smile!!

Thanks
Raghubir

Very well done Raghubir ClapClap
Thy look really fish catcing Thumbs Up
One thing I notice. Is the Green Lure has the towpoint horizontal.
I usually tune my Lures that have vertical towpoint, by moving it from side to side.
Could you tune that Lure, or did it just work the first time
Thanks fore posting, and keep up the great work Smile

Hi !

Per

Sorry for the delay in reply, yes true the towing eye is horizontal rather than vertical. Great observation !!ClapClap

It works fine without any issues with straight side to side action. The lures have screw eyes made from steel wire. I was trying to align all the three eyes and doing so the towing eye need to be in horizontal.

Do you suggest to move the towing eye vertical, though the action and movement in the water is prefect or it will improve the action.

Thanks for your suggestions.

With Regards, Raghubir

Hi Raghubir
If your Lure is going well no need to change that
Reason i mentioned it, is if the Lure is tilting to one side. You can adjust it by bending the vertical towpoint just a little the same way till it goes straight

Be killer Redfin perch lures I think, good super strong looking hardware on them, I love the green colour scheme as well.

Hi Martin, Good Morning !!

Thanks for your views, i have 30-35 blanks available which were cut long before of same lure design.

Will be working on them focusing on improving the colors, specially the eyes on the  top cure.

Hope to share them in due course of time.

Hi Andrew, good morning to you as well, thanks for views. Mate its a learning curve , i am optimistic now for making quality lures.

Sorry for delay in my reply.

Hi

Thanks Per, Graham & Martin for your views.

I had 2 issues previously,  which were critical in the whole process of lure making.

1. Envirotex lite for top coat
2. Createx colors

I am sharing my experience for the benefit of other members.

Envirotex Lite:

Before painting lure after applying premier coat, i did single coat of ETEX and let it dry for 12-24 hours.
Thoroughly clean the lure with isopropyl   alcohol before applying createx colors.
Once you are through with isopropane alcohol & drying, do not touch the lure with bare hand.

Apply top coat of ETEX.

I mixed equal part of ETEX thoroughly for 3 minutes with wood craft stick and then let it sit for another 3 minutes. Initially u will find lot of air bubbles , but after sitting for 3 minutes they will go away. Then i applying liberal coat of ETEX and put them on drying rack.

Kept  checking  for the first 30 minutes on the moving lures on drying rack for any missed spot, un even coat. Within 30 minutes you can correct after that it will not be possible do anything as ETEX start thickening up. I did not find any bubbles on the lures but few fish eyes which got removed after the 2nd coat which was after 24 hours.

I let them rotate on the wheel till they are sufficient thick (this u can find through your mixing cup of ET u coated on lures)  for 2-3 hours and then hang them in closed box for 72 hours.

After 72 hours they become rock hard and are good to go.

Use of Createx colors:

They are pretty good colors, you need to thin certain colors with createx 4011 and use createx media for smooth flow of color and atomization along with suitable PSI. U need to find out yourself with trial and error method and definitely at one point you will get the desired result. Try to note which color requires how much thinner & air pressure, take it from me you will enjoy.

Let them dry for 24 hours before applying top coat of ETEX.

Hope this will help someone, but the key as all the Senior's shared in the group from time to time  is self experiment. You get and idea from the senior members through their posts, u need to try and put some variation and u will get the result.

Merry Christmas to All in advance !!

Regards, Raghubir

Hi!!

Last Sunday i was able to test all the crank baits in my home bath tube for their action. They give reasonable good hunting action to my satisfaction. Here are few video's i could make & upload for your views & comments.

Thanks & Regards, Raghubir
